Peter Wybrow, a Director of PLW Associates, is a qualified sociologist with twenty years experience in research, consultancy, teaching and management in the British university sector. He also has a broad consultancy background, in North America, the Far East and Europe, in the areas of the socio-economic and environmental impacts on costal zones.  His current research and consultancy interests are in issues related to the socio-economic and environmental impacts of shipping and ports, short sea shipping, marine leisure and tourism.  Current clients include UK and international private clients as well as working on EU funded projects. . In particular he has experience of designing and managing large-scale questionnaire research, using structured and semi structured interviewing, face-to-face and telephone interviewing, focus groups and stakeholder dialogue techniques.

 

 

For four years he was the Head of the Public Policy Research Centre at Southampton Institute, in the UK and subsequently the Social Science Research Centre at the Institute, managing and participating in a broad range of research projects in both the public and private sectors.

 

Peter now works privately through consulting companies, of which he is a Director, in the UK and Malaysia.
